This recipe features Purple Cabbage (Red Cabbage), which is highlighted for its significant health benefits, including aiding digestion and supporting weight loss.

It is a quick dish that can be prepared in about 10 minutes and can be eaten as a salad or a side dish with roti, chapati, or rice.
Ingredients
Purple Cabbage: 500g (half kg)
Oil: A small amount for sautéing
Cumin Seeds (Jeera): For tempering
Asafoetida (Hing): A pinch
Curry Leaves: A few
Salt: To taste
Black Pepper Powder: For spice (preferred for weight loss over chili powder)
Lemon Juice: Half a lemon
Peanut Powder: Roasted and coarsely ground
Preparation Steps
Cutting : Thinly slice the purple cabbage into long strips. Using a knife to get long, thin pieces is recommended for a better texture, though a chopper can be used for finer bits.

Cleaning : Wash the sliced cabbage thoroughly in water and drain.
Tempering : Heat a small amount of oil in a kadai (pan). Add cumin seeds, a pinch of hing, and curry leaves. Sauté until the raw aroma of the curry leaves disappears.

Sautéing : Add the sliced cabbage to the pan. Initially, the volume will look large, but it will shrink as it cooks. Sauté on medium flame for about 6 to 7 minutes until the raw smell is gone.
Seasoning : Add salt to taste and continue to stir.
Spicing : Add black pepper powder for heat. While garam masala or red chili powder can be used, pepper is recommended for those focusing on weight loss.

Finishing : Squeeze half a lemon over the mixture and add the roasted peanut powder.
Serving : Mix well on a low flame and turn off the heat.
Serving Suggestions
Weight Loss: Eat it directly as a warm salad.
Meals: Serve as a side dish with Chapati, Roti, or Rice and Sambar.
