Ingredients

  • Chiroti Rava (Fine Semolina): 1 to 2 cups
  • Dry Coconut Powder (Desiccated Coconut): 1 cup
  • Ghee (Clarified Butter): 3–4 tablespoons
  • Cashews: 10–12 pieces (chopped)
  • Almonds: 10–12 pieces (chopped)
  • Raisins: 1–2 tablespoons
  • Sugar: 1 cup (powdered or granulated to be ground)
  • Cardamom Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Milk: As required (warm milk, small quantities used to bind the mixture if needed for softness)

Instructions

  1. Roast Nuts

Heat a tablespoon of ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add the chopped cashews, almonds, and raisins. Roast them on medium-low heat until golden brown and aromatic, then set them aside.

  2. Roast Rava

In the same pan with remaining ghee, add the chiroti rava (fine semolina). Roast it continuously on low-to-medium flame until it turns slightly fragrant and changes color slightly without burning.

  3. Add Coconut

Add the dry coconut powder to the roasted rava and sauté together for 1–2 minutes on low heat. Turn off the flame.

  4. Grind Sugar

If using regular sugar, powder it finely along with cardamom seeds in a mixer grinder.

  5. Mix Ingredients

Combine the roasted rava-coconut mixture, powdered sugar, roasted nuts, and cardamom powder together thoroughly in a large mixing bowl.

  6. Bind the Laddus

Sprinkle a small amount of warm milk gradually into the mixture. Mix well to help bind the ingredients while maintaining a crumbly yet moldable texture.

  7. Shape

Take small portions of the warm mixture into your palms and press firmly to shape them into round, neat balls (laddus).

  8. Set and Serve

Allow them to cool completely and set. Store them in an airtight container and enjoy!
